Experiencing Transcendent Oneness – Spiritual Intelligence Skill #11

Experiencing transcendent oneness is another skill that can be attained through exploring Spritual Intelligence.

People may experience transcendent oneness in different ways and some people perhaps never have or don’t recognize it when they do. I had a hard time choosing to write this blog because words won’t measure the magnitude of the experience. I also am (full disclosure) a person of Christian faith and know this idea cannot be boxed up and sold by any person. (Some of these skills and language will also cause an allergic reaction for some people depending on their own experiences and worldview. See skill #1)

Have you ever been rapt in attentiveness to what you are doing and deeply inspired, productive and connected to what you are doing or creating? Some people call it “being in the zone”. Time either stands still or it may move at an astonishing pace, and you barely know what happened.  You might have just experienced transcendent oneness. It is one of the 21 skills of Spiritual Intelligence described by Cindy Wigglesworth.

Or have you ever been in a place of beauty or with people you love and just felt this enveloping essence of love, protection or possibility? Have you ever seen the future in the eyes of others? Maybe you have see it in a tiny baby or even a special pet. Have you sensed that transcendent oneness beside the rhythm of an ocean, or in the roar of a waterfall or deep in a quiet forest or under shimmering stars against a dark sky? Perhaps you are inspired profoundly by a song or piece of art in unusual ways.

If so, I’d love for you to share your comments here. Or if you prefer, just give me a little thumbs up and send a private message. This idea of transcendent oneness can offer a profound sense of belonging like that described in this poem by John O’Donahue. I stumbled upon a beautiful poem during a challenging time in my life, when I felt out of sync with my soul and trapped in a toxic environment. But I found the courage to break free, to step into the light and reclaim harmony in my life.

Beyond just a fleeting moment of bliss, this idea of transcendent oneness can provide a profound sense of belonging. It’s like finding your place in the universe, feeling connected to God, the divine and everything around you.

If you ever find yourself facing difficulties, remember these words: never build a wall between yourself and the light. There’s always a path back to harmony, and I’m here to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

In the meantime, see if this poem speaks to you and consider how you can explore transcendent oneness.

May you listen to your longing to be free.
May the frames of your belonging be generous enough for your dreams.
May you arise each day with a voice of blessing whispering in your heart.
May you find a harmony between your soul and your life.
May the sanctuary of your soul never become haunted.
May you know the eternal longing that lives at the heart of time.
May there be kindness in your gaze when you look within.
May you never place walls between the light and yourself.
May you allow the wild beauty of the invisible world together you, mind you, and embrace you in belonging.
